Only required for a Stock Company(KK).
No need of notarization for a Limited Liability Company, however, be sure to finalize the contents before company registration.
What to Bring to Notary Office
- Personal Stamp (Inkan)
- Personal Stamp Certificate
- Residence Card & My Number Card
- JPY¥55,000 in cash
- Articles of Incorporation
- CD-R
- (If applicable) Letter of Attorney

Both GK and KK are required to follow the same procedure.
BEFORE going to Legal Affairs Bureau:
- Transfer your capital into Japanese bank account(A personal bank account is acceptable; it doesn't have to be a corporate account.)
- Obtain a Company Stamp & Bank Stamp
- Prepare Capital Transfer Records
- Printout or scan of the bank balance
- Printout or scan of transfer history or confirmation
- If using third-party’s bank account as proxy, letter of authorization from owner of bank account

- Company Registration Forms
- Capital Transfer Record
- Company Stamp
- Personal Stamps of All Directors
- JPY¥150,000 in cash
- Notarized Articles of Incorporation
Company Registration Fee Coverage Program
Your registration fee can be partially reimbursed through our Company Registration Fee Coverage Program.
This applies to graduates of the 'startup support program' who are planning to establish a company in Sapporo City.
Please inquire about the ongoing 'startup support programs'."
- ¥175,000 for a Stock Company (KK: Kabushiki Kaisha)
- ¥80,000 for a Limited Liability Company (GK: Godo Kaisha)
- Complete the startup support program.
- Fill out the required form.
- Have the form stamped by Sapporo City.
